Are we gonna rebill this thread as the 3-D house of horror or something?

Look ... it's George ... fresh out of the swimming pool ... IN 3-D!!!!

(For those who recall the heyday of SCTV, I'm currently doing the Dr. Tongue 3D sound effect, followed of course by Count Floyd's distincitve howl)

awesome... I used to love SCTV. Wish I could remember more of it. I do have Strange Brew on tape, though

LOL! I just saw a guy in Ascalon offering to run people to the Great Northern Wall for 50g. I said in chat that you could do it yourself inside the city (and gave directions). He whispered me and said not to say that because that's how he gets his gold.

One thing I will NEVER forget from SCTV..... "May the Lord take a likin' to ya, and blow you up real good!"

Actually ... without a doubt ... my favourite actor from SCTV will ALWAYS be John Candy ... I loved that guy ... cried in my car when I heard the news that he had died ... and I will always remember him from one sketch ... when gypsies had taken over the station ... and he had this pearl of wisdom to offer ...

'When life has got you down ... you need to get up ... AND MAMBO!!!'

God I miss that guy ...

Yeah, he was great. I always liked Rick Moranis though. Did you ever see that movie that came out a couple years ago with Eugene Levy... the one about Folk Music? I can't remember the name just now. It had a lot of the SCTV alums in it. I love that dry, underhanded humor they all have. They mix it well with really over the top wackiness.

A MIGHTY WIND!!!! That movie was awesome!!! I won't say that it was hilarious only because you're right, it was a very VERY dry kind of humor ... I'm sure that although I enjoyed the humor there are others who would watch it and not enjoy it as much ...

With ... two thirds of Spinal Tap playing in that one band with Harry Shearer ... that's a bit of a switch now isn't it?

BIG EDIT - I just realized that Harry Shearer WAS the third member of Spinal Tap ... I'm such a dolt ... I guess that's why their folk band didn't have a drummer ...

I have a confession to make. I haven't seen Spinal Tap. I really, really want to, but I rarely go to the rental place and when I do, I always forget that's on my "to see" list. Don't beat me, please. /cower

Don't sweat it Swampy ... I own an album ... I have never seen the movie ... I just know ... it goes to eleven ... there was another metal themed comedy movie that came out around the same time ... I recall seeing it ... and the only thing I can recall was the name of the band's label ... frilly pink records ...
